I am asked to be the librarian of the English Opera Group

Not long after I joined the group Britten asked me if I would be the librarian.  I demurred at first but took the job, and I’m glad I did because I spent much time chatting with Britten and also met some famous people.  There was Tyrone Guthrie, the producer, Eric Crozier, who wrote the libretto of “Albert Herring”, Imogen Holst, daughter of Gustav Holst, John Piper, the artist, and many others.
